Visual Arts Intern

Function: To aid the Visual Arts Department in tasks related to routine departmental work that ranges from special projects and research to clerical support.

Accountable To: Visual Arts Associate Director/Registrar


  • Assists in the preparation, documentation and/or organization of past, present and future exhibitions
  • Assists in creating/updating exhibition and artist files


  • Must be knowledgeable in Mexican art and culture
  • Reliability
  • Ability to commit one eight hour per week for no less than 12 weeks. 
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Excellent computer skills

This position is open to undergraduate and graduate-level college students who have declared a major in or volunteers must possess a college degree in one of the following disciplines: museology, art history, anthropology, Latin American studies, art or archaeology.  This is an unpaid position and preferences are given to students who are working towards a letter grade.  Generally, there is only one internship available per quarter/semester.
