Where are you located? Where is Pilsen in relation to downtown Chicago?

The National Museum of Mexican Art is located in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood just south and west of Chicago’s downtown.  We are easily accessible by car and public transportation. There is much to see in this area of the city and we encourage you to plan an afternoon sightseeing and shopping (or eating) after visiting the Museum.

What are your hours?

Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

We are closed on Mondays and on major holidays

What is admission to the Museum?

Free! Admission is always free to the Museum.  We rely on the support of generous donors to help us keep our doors open and accessible to all visitors regardless of their ability to pay.

What is the best way to get to the Museum?

We have plenty of options including public transportation and driving.  See below for directions.

How much time should I plan to spend at the Museum?

We suggest at least an hour to get through all four galleries.

Can we buy something to eat or drink?

We do not have food or drinks at the Museum and none are allowed in the galleries, but we can direct you to some wonderful Pilsen stores and restaurants.  And, we do have drinking fountains.

Can I arrange for a private tour? 

Yes!  But, we need advance notice to schedule something. Please call us at 312-738-1503 for information on scheduling your tour.  Tours are available in Spanish and English.

Are you accessible?

Our facility is wheelchair accessible and all of our galleries and our shop is located on the main floor.

Are there dates when some of the galleries are closed?

We do have to close galleries in between exhibitions.  This occurs a few times per year including in mid-December when our Day of the Dead exhibition closes.  Call us or visit our website for information on current exhibitions and gallery closings.

From the south:
